At the moment, after 1 month of our exsistense on the web, we have an average of 41 visitors a day.
Not enough to make a difference. WE NEED MORE!!!
Tell all your friends, family, mom and dad that we are the BEST!
And when they have a website, ask for a link to ‘art-in-tavira.com’
When you want to start a new topic on this blog, send me an email and i create it. Images are possible and makes it more attractive, so please, with image.
Also non-members of ‘the Bridge group’ are invited!!!
I think the change of the blog is a step in the right direction, and I absolutely agree we must spread the word. Sometimes though it’s time to take a break and think a little bit. Matthijs, Harvey, Rita and me visited a place together with Paula, who is in charge of that place, and I think I talk for all of us when I say it has great prospects if we will work on it together. So I think most of us should get together and have a close look at it (and maybe make a party) just after Easter.
Friends, we decided not to make an exhibit in April. Let’s do some cool planning instead.
Marika…we will miss u so much when u go to Berlin…
u are such a good friend…and all the small presents u spread around u…results of the work of a hard working artist…will always be a symbol, for the ones that were blessed this way…of…how we…as artists…might come into someones heart, to stay there…and by showing a little extra attention at the same time…how we can create an atmospheare of love and understanding…and THANK U, MARIKA…for all the times u showed me that u care…and special the little painting u sent with a friend, as a gift when I stayed one year in Norway…spending some rough time…will always participate - as a living image - to keep u in my heart with a lot of love…
and u are trthly a good example for other artists…
to remind us what we can do for others…by giving a little bit of ourselves…for the ones we want
never to forget us…
Thank u, Marika…I wish u all the best in Berlin…and it`s good to know there will always be at least one good reason for visiting Germany…
thank you Ula, and to all of you: Thank you for coming to the opening!!! This show will go on till april 10 and many exhibitions from our members will follow, every time a party!
Yeah
And the really important things are to announce events in good time and to spread the gospel, hand out our web adress to all and everyone of your contacts, whereever they are.
I wish everybody who can’t show up at the Mad Hatter this evening a perfect Easter and I like to share a few lines with you all:

BREV TIL DE SKRIFTLÆRDE
Dere som trur
dere som trur dere kjenner skriften
dere som er overbevist om at dere kjenner Gud
jeg hater dere ikke
men når dere gjør
noe jeg hater
som å stjele land
som å drepe barn,
voldta kvinner og torturere fanger,
har jeg lov til å hate det dere gjør
men først og fremst forrakte det dere gjør
og det dere er
LETTER TO SCHOLARS
You believers
who believe you understand the scriptures
who are convinced you know god
I don’t hate you
but when you do
things I hate
like stealing land
like killing children
raping women and torturing prisoners
it’s my right to hate what you do
but first of all despise you for what you do
and who you are
We are waiting for a very good friend of mine from Norway, to enter The Bridge…she is a fantastic painter and graphic too…she participated on the last exhibition we had in Leões…she`s been here several times on visits…and she and her common-law husband - Morten - deffently belongs to the family…
so please help me to make my friend Elisabeth Slettnes feel welcome on The Bridge.
She deserves it…!
Today I invited the norwegian multi-artist Guttorm Nordø, to step up on The Bridge. He is a fantastic painter and makes some uncredible lino-cuts…and God knows what he is into for ther moment…probably writing, music, film…he has links with other artists all over the world, through his work with the art-magazine El Djarida - among others -
I hope for the people who might be sceptic to a strong norwegian participation in the group - if any -to realize…that in the end it will all come to a balance. I suggest people try to look into themselves…and around them…for artists/all friends/cultural personalities from their respective nations, that might have links to Tavira…so we can continue one of these projects that is part of our mission for the moment: To make bridges to the art-world…
Let^s keep on the good work…the good spirit…
and let us continue to achieve a high standard/quality on our projects…
Is there made any kind of agreement…f.ex. on a meeting, where I didn´t participate, about how many guest-artists we can have at the time - if there is a limit - is there any time-limit…??? etc. etc.
I suggset we start the work with THE ARTIST`S HANDBOOK…!
Or mayby we should wait till we can make it on a proper site…that looks okey, with more personal adds, and so on…(?)…
I suggest we open up for comments to each and one of eachothers art-work. That will be good for one of the reasons we are here: To create atention around the prosess and results of our work as artists…!!!
As a painter, I will once in a while depend on the good-will from one of my fellows on The Bridge, who is a photographer, to take some shots of my art-work.
I`ve been thinking a bit about if I should try to use the same photographer all the time, or if I should make some changes…and till now I`ve asked Miguel,
Ola anf Harvey for them kindly to participate in the prosess of making my art-work presentable for the public…as photographic images. I want u to know,
my friends - photograsphers - that you are not been taking for granted…i truthly believe in things being fair, and that people always should have some
atention or some kind of salery for their work…and
I hope you are all fine with the way we - as painters - are looking for ways to make it up for you brothers and sisters behind the cameras…there is always a way to show that somebody is being prisciated for who they are and what they do…anyway…to make it simple…
I wanna say thank u for the photographers on The Bridge…for always being positive, when some of the
other artists in the group - and I am sure it also counts elsewhere - needs some documentation, some advices, some support to keep the dream of immortality alive. Thank u…each and one of u…!!!
I have a suggestion for u, Matthijs…how u can describe ur art/yourself as an artist:
MINIMALISTA MONUMENTAL.
Minimalismo monumental.
Monumental minimalist.
Hey, Kandisnky…really enjoyed ur exhibition…
thanks Leif, i think you can describe my work as “neo-dada/constructivism/suprematism” (definitely not minimalism) ; thinking of Kasimir Malevich and Kurt Schwitters and buddhism or TAO. Always turning my own ideas and believes up site down, if it make sense or not, doesn’t matter, you know. Just to wake up, to stay alive.

Did you say PARTY? I’m in.
Comment by matthijs — March 6, 2008 @ 9:16 am
Yeah, I said party. Why not plan for an artistic barbeque? But we should plan some cleaning-up first.
